Scope of the Meeting

To mark the 20th anniversary of Hinode, this meeting is organized as a forum to share the results achieved to date and to outline the research process leading to SOLAR-C. Researchers from Japan and abroad will gather at Nagoya University to discuss a wide range of topics, including solar atmospheric heating, flares, and magnetic reconnection. They will also discuss collaborative observations with Parker Solar Probe, Solar Orbiter, DKIST, SUNRISE3 and so on. Through these discussions, we aim to build a foundation for international research collaboration toward SOLAR-C, while building on the legacy of Hinode.

The meeting place will be Sakata-Hirata Hall in Higashiyama Campus, Nagoya University, Japan.

Registration (open on April 1, 2026)

Banquet will be held at The Strings Hotel Nagoya just after the excursion on September 2 (Wed), 2026. The excursion and banquet are included in the registration fee. All participants are invited to the excursion and banquet. Financial travel support for a limited number of students is possible now (see above).

Scientific Program

The scientific program consists of oral and poster presentations. The oral presentation schedule is available on the Oral Program page, and the list of poster presentations can be downloaded as a PDF.

Posters P1–P38 will be presented during the first poster session (Day 1 and Day 2), and posters P39–P76 during the second poster session (Day 3–Day 5). The maximum poster size is 152 cm (height) × 115 cm (width).

About PASJ Special Issue

A forthcoming special issue of the Publications of the Astronomical Society of Japan (PASJ) entitled:

Toward the SOLAR-C Mission from 20 Years of Hinode

This special issue commemorates the 20th anniversary of the Hinode mission and aims to highlight its scientific achievements while looking ahead to the next-generation solar mission, SOLAR-C.

We welcome original contributions covering a broad range of topics related to solar physics, including observational studies, theoretical work, numerical simulations, and instrumentation. We hope this special issue will provide an opportunity to review the remarkable scientific legacy of Hinode and to discuss future directions toward the SOLAR-C era.
